Why I’m Not Buying the Supernatural Sale

Why I’m Not Buying the Supernatural Sale

Let’s get one thing straight: I’m part of nature, we all are part as nature, we are as natural as they come. I am a part of nature, just like a carrot or a tree.  I’m so natural, I make granola look like a high-tech gadget. So when people start talking about things that are ‘supernatural’ or ‘metaphysical,’ I can’t help but raise an eyebrow. Or both. I do not believe in mysterious forces or "energies," just as I do not believe in ghosts or shamanic powers.

Now, I’m not saying I don’t enjoy a good ghost story. Who doesn’t love a tale of a haunted toaster? But when it comes to real life, I’m firmly grounded in the here and now. I’m a liberal humanist, which is just a fancy way of saying I believe in people. And not in a “I believe in fairies” kind of way. More like, “I believe we’ve got this, team human!”

You see, I reckon all the good, the bad, and the ugly of the universe is packed inside us humans. If we were to vanish tomorrow (which would be terribly inconvenient for my weekend plans), all instances of good and evil would poof! Disappear faster than my motivation on a Monday morning.

Astrology? Conspiracy theories? Oh, please. That’s just cosmic cop-outs for not owning up to our massive responsibility. We’re the ones steering this spaceship Earth, and there’s no mystical space captain at the helm. It’s all us, baby.

So, let’s embrace our human-ness, with all its glorious imperfections. Let’s be the authors of our own epic saga, not side characters in a celestial soap opera. After all, if the stars could control our destiny, wouldn’t we all just be following a script written in the sky? And where’s the fun in that?

Remember, the next time someone tells you Mercury is in retrograde, remind them that your common sense isn’t.

PS: Please don't ask me "What's your sign?"

Let’s set the celestial record straight: when it comes to astrological signs, I’ve gone off the beaten path and embraced the mighty Gorilla as my starry emblem. Sure, it might not be in the traditional zodiac, but then again, aren’t all astrological signs a bit bananas? So, let’s skip the ‘What’s your sign?’ and celebrate the gorilla in all of us—strong, unique, and unbound by constellations!” 🦍✨
